another haircut bites the dust.
Jessica Stroup, from 90210. Gorgeous, isn’t she? My friend Natalie was actually the one who told me about ther haircut (I don’t watch 90210). I love it, it’s cute and funky and relatively simple. Her haircut was the inspiration for my big hair chop-off in August. I went to the salon today, hoping to get a trim. Did I get this haircut? No. No, I did not.

resolutions
A new year, a new start. December is winding down, so the obligatory end-of-the-year reflections start to begin. This been a complete roller-coaster, and nothing went the way I thought it would, which was a good and bad thing. There were definitely tragic and sad events: Bunny’s sickness, my aunt’s passing, but I’ve also experienced a lot of great things as well. So what will...

take care
So long to my new friend and now former co-worker, Krysia (pronounced Krish-ah), whose off on an exciting new chapter of her life in Edinburgh. You definitely made my days at Club Monaco more enjoyable: I seriously think that every Club Monaco has a token British person employed. As I had written in my note to you, I’ll miss your snarky and oh-so British remarks. Who’s going to...

Katherine: "Oh my God, that stinked up the place!"
Me: " . . . 'Stank,' Katherine?"
Katherine: "Whatever."

a christmas to remember
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HOMIES! Funfact: I received the most amazing Christmas gift. In typical Joseph-fashion, he included a lot of my friends and loved ones. Suffice to say, this was a fantastic Christmas. :)

freedom
Every time I think of the word freedom, George Michael starts to play in my head. Anyways! I AM DONE MY EXAMS! I finished on the 21st — barbaric, isn’t it? When highschool students are out of school before I’m finished my exams, you know something’s wrong. Exams should not run that late, it should be illegal. Nevertheless, I am finished! Contemporary American fiction...

bested by an old lady
As I’ve stated before, I adore Christmas. What I don’t like, is Christmas parking. I love the shopping, I love the deals, I’m even okayish with the crowds — but I hatehatehate the parking lots! Example: Saturday afternoon. I usually drive to Fairview about two hours before my shift. It’s a combination of fighting traffic, and my heinious need to be early. It’s...

i heart christmas
I love Christmas. Seriously. Lovelovelove Christmas. My friends and boyfriend know this: I adore Christmas. I love the holiday rush, the craziness in the malls, the crisp cold air, I love it all. Every year I put up the tree on November 25th, so we can get a solid month of Christmas joy. In case you’re wondering: Yes, my family is Buddhist, but sometimes we’re quasi-Christian. Or my...

why can't it be like in the movies?
I honestly think I’m going to self-combust. Ka-boom! Any and every student can testify that this time of year is absolutely insane, with demands from school, family, friends, work and the annual holiday obligations. I have 4 exams left to do, with the last occuring on the 21st. YES, the 21st! Four days before Christmas! How is this legal?! Besides that, work has been absolutely hectic....

Guy 1: "Hey man."
Guy 2: "Hey."
Guy 1: "So . . . I thought you had a girl, but you got a guy?"
Guy 2: "Yeah, I got a guy."
Guy 1: "That's cool man, that's cool."

with increasing age comes great responsibility --...
Sorry for the title, that’s all I could think of. I don’t know if my late aunt’s passing has influenced my train of thoughts, but lately my parents’ welfare has been occupying my thoughts. My parents had me later in life: my mom is turning 59 this year, my dad is 57. Over the years, my parents have become increasing forgetful, and the amount of vitamins and pills they take...

R-rated Retail Talk
Alexa: "So just lift the bottom. . ."
Me: "Uh huh, got it."
Alexa: "Okay, so see where the hole is? Just lift the stick part and put it in."
Me: "Is it supposed to go deep?"
Alexa: "Yeah, if it's not, just try another angle."
Me: "Uh huh . . . there! Got it in!"
Alexa: "See?"
Me: "Yeah, thanks for the help. Hey do you realize what this entire conversation sounded like?"
Alexa: " . . . OMG, I didn't even realize!"
Me: "Sweartagawd, people, we're talking about putting up a mannequin!"
