2012
It’s time to lace up your dancing shoes and ring in the new year! This last year has definitely been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m excited to see what 2012 brings for me.
Hope you all have a happy, healthy and memorable year to come!
excuse this interruption
I’m attempting to re-tweak my blog, so you’ll have to bear with me.
peace out
Yesterday was the annual retail nightmare/free-for-all known as Boxing Day. This yearly event is more like a battle: a test that separates the children from the men and women. Yes, you may be reduced to tears — you’ll most certainly be tearing out your hair while you fight crowds, kill each other for parking spaces and basically spend about 2/3s of your day waiting in endless lines.

epic failure
For the past month, I’ve been a super spy. Seriously. I’m impressed with my own level of stealth and deviousness, James Bond’s got nothin’ on me.
A while back, I had decided to get my parents a new dresser for Christmas. Kind of random and mundane, I know, but allow me to explain: my parents were the Young Immigrant Couple when they arrived in Canada during the 1970s....
mutiny
This time of year is complete hell for retailers — that’s to be expected. When you’re working in retail, you know that come November, the shifts get longer, the customers get crazier and finding a parking spot becomes a battle. This year has proved to be particularly painful; we’ve got a new district sales manager, and she is genuinely nice, but she had insisted that all of...
the week before Christmas
Christmas is upon us, and snow has been teasing Toronto for about a month. There’s literally been no snow: sure, there’s been some flurries, frigid temperatures, but none of the actual white stuff.
Tease.
I put up the tree a few days ago — yes, that would mean our tree is a fake one. Guilty. As much as I admire how some families go get the real thing, I love our little plastic...
it's that magical time of year
My room is finished! Woohoo! As of last night, I’ve been moving my stuff back into my room and it feels great. Gone is the goose wallpaper, and in it’s place: yellow! I still have a multitude of boxes to unpack, but I’m really happy to be back in my own space again. And the next big project? Tomorrow, I put up the Christmas tree.
Happy holidays!
DP
The company that has decided to take a risk on a complete newbie like me will be known as DP, out of respect and courtesy to the clients. Anyways, in the past several months I’ve had to put my hopes of teaching aside and evaluate my options: unfortunately for countless of other students, the teaching field is incredibly difficult right now. My sister Katherine, who graduated from...

fashion crisis
Damn you, ambiguous invitations!
“Lunch with the staff” — what does that mean?! Are we eating in? Eating out? Do I have to dress up? No seriously, what am I supposed to wear?!
fingers crossed
I’ve been light on actual posts these days because I’ve just been so busy: things are changing in my life right now, and until things have settled down, it’ll all just remain a mystery until I decide to share it with you all.
If there’s anything to share, that is.
2 accidents in 2 days
— I just witnessed them, I swear!
There’s no way to sugarcoat this: yesterday’s was caused by sheer stupidity. The woman decided to take her life at risk and come out of a plaza at a very busy intersection and cut across three lanes of traffic. I was one of the drivers that decided to let her pass, but she decided to push her luck by trying to weave her way into the far left...
